Experience

Andrea has more than seven years of professional tutoring experience. After more than two years of informal private tutoring experience during and after college, Andrea gained three years of experience at a nation-wide tutoring company. While there, she was promoted twice to advise Southern California Center Directors on educational issues. She trained new teachers and even worked on developing new training curriculum. Andrea decided to become an independent tutor in 2022 and has helped hundreds of students achieve their academic goals.

Education

Andrea holds a Master of Arts in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago. Prior to working as a professional tutor, Andrea graduated from Scripps College with a Bachelor of Arts in English, cum laude. She minored in Psychology and worked as a teaching assistant for the Statistics for Psychology course. She also wrote an academic thesis that received honors and formally presented her faculty-nominated research paper during Capstone Day.

Andrea is a stellar tutor. She has expertise in multiple subject areas. She’s a one-stop shop for all humanities and social sciences as well as mid-level math and science. She has experience with multiple age groups, from 2nd graders to college students. She keeps detailed records and provides monthly check-in conferences, plus special workshops on practical topics. Above all else, Andrea builds strong rapport with her students, focusing on empowering them to gain the skills and habits they need to be successful throughout their academic career.
